Job Duties :

The primary purpose of this position is to direct and oversee athletics camps and clinics. Duties will include developing, refining, implementing and ensuring compliance of all camp policies, procedures and guidelines. This position will also supervise and approve outside athletics facility rentals, administer contracts, and schedule and direct student working staff. This position will also assist with facility operations, game management, work orders, and van scheduling/maintenance. This position is substantially engaged in programs and activities that extend to serving individuals outside of the university. This position ensures compliance with procedures, guidelines and policies as it relates to the application of university, state and federal guidelines, including appropriate communication requiring significant and independent interaction with a cross-section of individuals necessary to perform the duties of this position.

This position will build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with athletics, Pirate Club, University staff, students, outside vendors and all other constituencies and stakeholders. The individual in this position must be able to think independently and use discretion with interpreting and determining decisions and their effectiveness, while possessing the ability to communicate decisions, recommendations, guidelines, policies etc. This individual must be able to recognize, define and resolve standard and non-standard problems using operating procedures, practices and established precedents and resolve recurring issues and problems as well as some unique situations. This position performs its duties consistent with the goals and values of the department, division, and university and will abide by all written policies and procedures of ECU, the Department of Athletics, The Educational Foundation (Pirate Club), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and all applicable conferences or associations. Night, holiday and weekend work is expected in performance of duties. This position will perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

License or Certification required by statute or regulation:

Previous experience working in collegiate athletics operations is preferred.
