IR Research Faculty
The Department of Radiological Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is recruiting for a full-time Professor in Interventional Radiology at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level in the Health Science Clinical Series (HSC) or in-Residence Series. Titles in the HSC series are assigned to academically qualified individuals who are in full-time service of the University, who are excellent in teaching and clinical service, and who are engaged in creative academic activities. Titles in the in-Residence Series have similar qualifications but with an emphasis on research and on an ability to successfully compete for peer-reviewed grant funding. This position is within the Interventional Radiology Section.
Candidates must be eligible for California licensure and American Board of Radiology certification, and have completed a one-year interventional radiology fellowship. The candidate will be expected to have a major commitment to research with a proven track record commensurate with academic level. Participation in the research mission as an intellectual leader and initiator of clinically-impactful research projects, as well as a collaborator in other research projects is expected. Applicants with experience in basic science/translational research, experimental lab experience, and/or investigation of innovative devices for image-guided treatments are favored. The Department has available MR (3T), CT (interventional), and robotic angiography dedicated only to research as well as a highly equipped wet lab space. The candidate should also possess a strong clinical skillset performing vascular and cross-sectional IR procedures. In addition to direct patient care, the candidate is expected to contribute to the training program for our residents and fellows, participate in IR and multidisciplinary conferences, and engage in developing innovative clinical IR treatment programs. A collegial attitude and commitment to teamwork are essential.
