Position Description:
UCLA Strategic Communications increases awareness, understanding and support of UCLA's vision, mission, and accomplishments among its many constituencies. A major focus of this department is the formulation and implementation of strategic communications initiatives, plans and events.

The social media unit is part of the Brand Marketing team, which supports and collaborates with Strategic Communications and its partners, including but not limited to Admissions Marketing, Experiential Marketing, Vice Chancellor Communications, and Campus Marketing and Communications. Reporting to the Director of Social Media, the Social Media Designer works collaboratively with the Director of Social Media, the Social Media team and the Strategic Communications Content Studio to conceptualize, create and execute multimedia assets for social media and digital platforms. The Social Media Designer creates and posts multimedia assets (graphics/animations) for strategic communications' daily operations and long-term campaigns; edits and resizes video clips for posting to social media; ensures graphic consistency and adherence to UCLA brand guidelines on our social media/digital platforms; maintains creative quality control through editing and approval process and designs and maintains templates through art and copy revisions. Duties are performed onsite during normal office working hours and the incumbent maintains consistent and punctual attendance. Working hours may include weekends, evenings, and holidays and may require light travel.
