The Temporary - Marketing Web Content Specialist is responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining web content for MPTC’s websites in cooperation with internal MPTC stakeholders ranging from academics to administration. This position maximizes online user experience by generating engaging web content and design elements.
1. Closely cooperate with academics, student affairs, and other MPTC units to generate/update web content and to conceptualize/design websites for internal and external stakeholders. 2. Propose creative web solutions to meet the unit’s true communication needs.3. Identify opportunities to improve user experience.4. Work with web IT staff to alter page layouts and design, and to maintain web navigation and information hierarchy mapping as web changes occur.5. Brainstorm with the digital marketing team to come up with social media content, campaign strategies, landing pages, and more as needed. 6. Learn and apply basic search engine optimization (SEO) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 principles with the support of the Digital Marketing Manager (training will be provided).7. Assist with other marketing-related projects within the department as needed.
1. Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Media or related field preferred.2. Minimum of 1 year of web related work experience.3. Any combination of equivalent training and experience which provides desired knowledge, skills and abilities.
4. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.5. Experience in developing user-friendly web content. 6. Experience in operating content management systems (preferably WordPress).7. Familiarity with HTML and CSS8. Ability to independently oversee projects, propose solutions, and meet deadlines.9. Ability to establish and maintain respectful and productive working relationships by communicating effectively and tactfully with diverse populations.10. Experience with InDesign, Photoshop and current Adobe Creative Suite platforms preferred.
