MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High School Diploma/GED

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

    General housekeeping experience

TRAINING TIME:

    90 days to learn details of job

    Six Months to perform all job related duties

OVERVIEW:

This position must be accountable to the Director of Custodial Services for maintaining a clean and healthy environment by keeping it sanitary and orderly using the methods specified in the training manual.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position demands good physical and mental aptitude. The custodian will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, and pull. He/she must be able to move continuously during work hours, including the use of stairs, and must be able to lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds. Also, must be able to work within dusty conditions.

DUTIES AND OTHER JOB RELATED ACTIVITIES:

Operate and maintain various machines such as vacuums, floor machines, buffers, etc.

Keep bathrooms stocked and cleaned daily. Clean/sanitize wash basins, mirrors, toilets,      showers, etc.

Keep all areas of building clean, organized, and promote a healthy environment to include but not limited to washing, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.

Empty trash containers and taking contents to centralized waste areas for permanent removal.

Clean A/C filters weekly or as needed.

Fill out work requests for any needed repairs to be turned, e.g. leaky faucets, stopped up toilets, or out of order washers/dryers etc.

Work with various chemicals and follow all instructions for proper and safe use of chemicals. Chemical safety and use of chemicals will be included in the housekeeper's on-board training.

Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services.

Perform additional work as deemed necessary by management.

Be willing to work as a team player maintaining a friendly disposition at all times.
