The Department of Cardiology has an opening for a part-time (0.4 FTE) University Staff (unclassified) Research Services Professional (Finance Coordinator) position.

Nature of Work

We are seeking a part time (0.4 FTE) Clinical Trial Finance Coordinator in the Department of Cardiology. This position will support multiple industry supported clinical trials, federally funded clinical trials, and investigator initiated research. This position’s responsibilities focuses primarily on: budget development and negotiation, invoicing, accounts payable duties, and accounts receivable duties. Our ideal candidate will have previous financial experience, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

This position will have a flexible part time schedule, dependent on current program needs. Given the computational nature of this work, this position is expected to have work location flexibility, including the option for remote working.

Examples of Work Performed

The amount of time spent on required tasks may shift depending on the needs of the department. The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversight of the contracting, financial management and billing for the CCTP Research Team, by tracking, updating, and modifying the financial status of all actives projects.
  • Periodic review of all study accounts to ensure that all payments received have been processed correctly and applied to the appropriate accounts.
  • Budget development, negotiation, and amendments for all clinical research trials.
  • Preparation and submission of clinical trial contracts via the electronic routing process through the office of grants and contracts and communicate with all the relevant parties.
  • Complete OnCore reviews and signoffs for budget and finance review.
  • Complete the Electronic Capital/Contract Request (ECCR) forms for all research related devices or products to be used in the hospital.
  • Submit all invoices from UCHealth and/or industry studies in a timely manner.
  • Attend meetings with sponsors, management, the CCTP research team, and PIs as needed.
  • Communicate appropriately and timely with sponsors on financial matters.
  • Provide computational research support.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Clinical Trials Manager.
Supervision Received

The Finance Coordinator reports to the Clinical Trials Manager, Tara Churney.

Supervision Exercised

The Finance Coordinator may provide training or guidance to our team PRAs but will not directly supervise other employees.

Salary and Benefits:

The starting salary for this position has been established at $21,000 per year for 0.4 FTE.  

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Minimum Qualifications 

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

     Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Finance, Business, Science, Public Health, or a related degree.
      Substitution: Relevant experience and education may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
    At least one year of experience.

  • Epic or Oncore Training
  • Prior industry clinical trial finance experience
  • PeopleSoft experience
