Position Purpose:

In conjunction with the Sr. Benefits Analyst, provides a broad range of analysis, data management, and research in the administration of the College’s benefit plans, including both health/welfare and retirement plans. Assists in the development and execution of in-depth processes to ensure compliance with benefit plan documents and federal regulations.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp:

Bachelors plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Two or more years of experience as an HRIS or Benefits Specialist, or other related experience.
• Excellent analytical skills with proven ability to troubleshoot systems-related issues.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Technical aptitude and knowledge of Microsoft Office software products.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Must be flexible and adaptive to change.

Description:

• Prepares and analyzes benefits reports from multiple systems, ensuring data integrity by researching and resolving discrepancies and making appropriate adjustments to databases. Under general guidance, researches, evaluates and solves often complex issues related to the processing of data involving various sources.

• Partners with Finance Centers, Payroll and the HRIS team to improve the day-to-day flow of data from the departments, through the finance centers, to the payroll system, resulting in accurate benefit plan records.

• Evaluates current benefit plan processes, practices and procedures and identifies areas for improvement. Facilitates the implementation of approved changes by collaborating with the HRIS team on corrective measures.

• Collaborates with the HRIS team and outside vendors to compile data from various sources to provide reports necessary to ensure compliance with benefit plan documents and federal regulations, as well as to provide data analysis for management.

• Manages employee loan program, including approving loans per guidelines, performing monthly reconciliation and coordinating the collection process.

• Drafts correspondence and other documents in response to data research and analysis.

• Contributes and participates as an active member of the Benefits team on various recurring or ad hoc events and projects. Provides backup coverage for Sr. Benefits Analyst, as needed.
