Position Summary:
To provide leadership as the Interim Program Director of the DMS program Position and serve as a full-time faculty member in the program that includes didactic, clinical, laboratory, simulation, and online teaching.
Position begins in September 2022 at our Paramus campus.
Position Description:
Provide leadership as the Interim Program Director of the DMS program and serve as a Full-time faculty member
This will include:
Managing program operations including accreditation reporting and ensuring that standards and guidelines are upheld program wide.
Teaching responsibilities will include classroom/didactic/lab /online/clinical instruction, participation in clinical laboratory simulations.
Preparing DMS faculty teaching assignments.
Participating in course and program level assessment.
Participating in scholarly activity and involvement in departmental, college and community service as part of the tenure process
Coordinating the program Admissions process including conducting Information Sessions, and serving as an advisor to potential and current students.
Providing leadership to manage program operations including accreditation reporting.
Collaborating with the program clinical coordinator on faculty and student clinical assignments.
Teaching responsibilities will include classroom/didactic/lab/ /online/clinical instruction, participation in clinical laboratory simulations.
Collaborating with faculty to assure that all students perform and demonstrate competence in all required skills prior to the completion of the program.
The general responsibilities for a faculty member in this area are developing curriculum and course syllabi, classroom/lab/online simulation and clinical course instruction, developing evaluation methods, providing student performance feedback, counseling students for academic success, working as a member of the diagnostic medical sonography team and maintaining professional development in diagnostic medical sonography
Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum of Bachelors’ degree and Diagnostic Medical Sonography credential
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Certification
- RDMS Certification – both Abdomen and OB/GYN certification by December 2021
- RVT certification preferred
- Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Registered Sonographer
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience
- Availability to teach day and evening classes
- Demonstrate experience utilizing technology and web enhanced courses, on-line management systems and simulation to enhance student learning objectives and program assessment outcomes
- Commitment to incorporation of library, computers, writing and a culturally diverse perspective into the curriculum
- Knowledge of competency-based education
- Knowledge or willingness to learn the technology to incorporate online teaching using the learning management system of the College
- Commitment to continued assessment of the teaching-learning process and its outcomes
- Commitment to continual professional growth and development
