Job Details
Trinity Washington University is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach ENGL 107, College Composition, in the Spring 2022 semester (3 credits per class). ENGL 107 is a required course in the first-year curriculum, designed to help students to develop effective writing skills for evidence-based, thesis-centered academic essays. The course is organized around several standardized linked assignments, culminating in an 8-10 page research paper. Adjunct faculty may also be asked to teach intermediate literature courses (i.e. ENGL 150).
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate should have earned at least a Master’s degree from an accredited institution, in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or another related field, and should be able to demonstrate strong teaching skills. A background in teaching rhetorical analysis at the introductory level is highly desirable.
Official transcripts for all degrees earned, sample course syllabi, course evaluations and/or other evidence of teaching effectiveness. Knowledge of best teaching practices is required. Preference given to candidates who demonstrate excellence with engaged and active learning practices. Online teaching ability is required.
