    Ability to maintain confidentiality Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft Financials and HRMIS, Banner, Crystal, Xtender, SPSS and other computer software/databasesDetail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, problem solving and multi-tasking skillsProficient/knowledge of admission proceduresProficient/knowledge of account management and reconciliationAbility to professionally interact with university administration, faculty and students as well as outside organizations, applying discretion in all communication actions and actions to ensure professionalism at all times, including difficult and stressful situations
    Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with progressively responsible experience in administrative support; three to four years previous experience in an academic or higher education setting; proficiency with Banner.Responsibilities Augusta University’s Department of Social Sciences invites applicants for an Administrative Assistant II. The position will work closely with the department’s chair along with supporting the department’s Master of Arts in Intelligence and Security Studies.The Department of Social Sciences includes over 350 students in six undergraduate degrees and two graduate degrees. The department’s undergraduate degrees are in Criminal Justice; Health, Society, and Policy; Nonprofit Leadership and Administration; Political Science: and Social Work, and Sociology. The program’s two graduate degrees are a Master of Arts in Intelligence and Security Studies and a NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration program. The duties include, but are not limited to:
      Provide administrative support for the chair of Social Sciences and the director of the department’s Master of Arts in Intelligence and Security Studies (MAISS).Serve as administrator for the department’s budget.Monitor and reconcile all budget accounts in the department.Coordinate travel arrangements and reimbursements for chair and department’s faculty.Assist the Department of Social Sciences with daily task support, unit organization, managing and distributing information from within the office. Prepare and submit all necessary documentation.Field incoming calls, sending meeting invites, and greeting guests.Work with other office personnel to maintain office supply inventories and ensure office areas are organized appropriately.Other duties as assigned.
