Job Summary:

  • Eastern Washington University is seeking Chefs for multiple restaurants on the Cheney campus. The chef positions are classified as Snack Bar Lead’s and work in Dining Services kitchens under the general direction of a supervisor or a production chef. They often work unsupervised and participate in the production of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, catering events, concessions, and other events. EWU kitchens are fast paced and full of energy. Experience is appreciated and rewarded, but we will train the right person. Salary is $17.99 – $21.20 hourly.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington Driver’s license
  • Valid Washington Food Handler’s Permit
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in restaurant food service work, including one year of lead experience, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability, and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Culinary Arts degree or related degree in the food service field
  • 2 years of college or university high volume food service experience.
  • 1 year of kitchen supervisory experience.

Work Schedule:

Alternate schedules will consist of forty(40) hours of work, with at least two (2)consecutive days off, in a seven(7) day period. Alternate schedules will not include split shifts. Employees may be assigned to work weeks and work shifts of different lengths in order to meet business and customer service needs.
