Work closely with team members to provide effective, efficient technology transfer service to faculty while maximizing IP opportunities for the university and the state

Position Summary:

The University of Georgia seeks an innovative postdoctoral associate seeking to leverage scientific acumen while developing new expertise in the areas of innovation, intellectual property and technology transfer. This position is within Innovation Gateway, UGA’s commercialization program in the Office of Research, which encompasses the University’s intellectual property licensing and startup support functions to ensure that research discoveries reach their full potential for public benefit. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, detail-oriented self-starter who is ready to join a highly-ranked, dynamic technology transfer office. As an integral member of the commercialization team, the associate will gain experience in technology assessment, intellectual property protection strategies, market analysis and deal negotiation in a collaborative environment.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:

A Ph.D. in a scientific discipline relevant to UGA’s research portfolio. Successful completion of an internship in a technology transfer unit or equivalent experience in research commercialization.

Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects.
