Job Description:The Department of Biology at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor. Exceptional candidates at the associate professor level will also be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a robust, externally funded research program and contribute to both undergraduate and graduate education in animal physiology and molecular biology within the Department. The anticipated start date for this position is August 16, 2022.

We anticipate that candidates for this position would investigate open questions in animal physiology using contemporary molecular, genetic, and cellular approaches. We interpret ‘physiology’ broadly to include nervous and sensory systems function, the endocrine system, muscle physiology, protein/membrane transport, development and regeneration, aging and stress biology, and molecular signaling, among others. Preference will be given to candidates working on non-mammalian systems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to use outstanding research infrastructure at UF including one of the fastest GPU AI supercomputers in academia (HiPerGator www.rc.ufl.edu/services/hipergator/) and a comprehensive genomics and biotechnology core service center at the UF ICBR (https://biotech.ufl.edu/). Expected Salary:The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a full benefits package.Minimum Requirements:Successful candidates must have obtained a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline by August 16, 2022.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong preference will be given to applicants with at least one year of postdoctoral experience, but exceptional applicants at the Ph.D. level may be considered.
