Nature of WorkThe Rocky Mountain Prevention Research Center (RMPRC) in the Colorado School of Public Health at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus has an opening for a full-time, 1.0 FTE, Sr. Professional Research Assistant (Sr. PRA). The Sr. PRA will work on the research and evaluation of the T2LH mobile health (mHealth) program, which aims to promote healthy eating and physical activity in various underserved residents throughout the Rocky Mountain region and other areas of the US, including low-income Spanish and English-speaking parents, older adults, refugees, and various Native American populations. The primary responsibilities of this Sr. PRA position will be to pull and analyze data for approximately 6 different T2LH campaigns; produce quarterly and annual reports; create and implement a process evaluation plan; oversee the survey data collection for a longitudinal study of T2LH; and collect and analyze qualitative interview data.

The Colorado School of Public Health is a collaborative endeavor involving the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz), Colorado State University (CSU), and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). The Colorado School of Public Health is the first and only accredited school of public health in the Rocky Mountain Region, attracting top tier faculty and students from across the country, and providing vital contributions towards ensuring our region’s health and wellbeing. Collaboratively formed in 2008 by CU Denver, CSU and UNC, the Colorado School of Public Health provides training, innovative research and community service to actively address public health issues including chronic disease, access to healthcare, environmental threats, emerging infectious diseases, and costly injuries.

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is the only comprehensive academic health sciences center in Colorado, the largest academic health center in the Rocky Mountain region and one of the newest education, research and patient care facilities in the world. Currently home to 25,000 employees, more than 5,000 degree-seeking students and two nationally recognized hospitals that handle 1.7 million patient visits each year, CU Anschutz trains the health sciences workforce of the future, carries out a broad range of research, and cares for the state’s children, adults, and veterans. CU Anschutz has many opportunities for collaboration across the health sciences, with multidisciplinary centers for prevention research, Latino research and policy, cancer, outcomes research, and American Indian/Alaska Native health, among others. Supervision ReceivedThe PRA will be supervised by Dr. Jini Puma, the RMPRC Associate Director and T2LH Principal Investigator.

Examples of Work Performed

This PRA position will coordinate the T2LH program.

20% of the duties will be administrative:

    Coordinate T2LH staff and weekly meetingsMonitor messages for programming and partnersTake notes and summarize recommendations to T2LH partners and PI to ensure adaptation of T2LH to be more intentional about impacting other areas of development in children.Recruitment of partners to continue to grow the T2LH programRecruitment of participants.
80% of the duties will be research related:

    Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data related to the T2LH programEvaluate systems and monitor processes and efficiencies meeting the guidelines to ensure fidelity of the program and messagesCreate and implement a process evaluation planSubmit and maintain applications to the Colorado Multiple Institutional Review Board (COMIRB)Develop publications related to research project findings  Summarizing and preparing research quarterly and annual reports to funders and to be disseminated using various platforms; newsletters, website, training, programs, etc.Produce academic journal articles featuring results
    Attend the RMPRC Data Analysis Group (DAG) meetingsMember of School Wellness evaluation teamWrite grants to fund T2LH program and research/evaluation, as needed

Salary and BenefitsThe salary range for this position has been established at $55,000 to $ 65,000. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, rank, internal equity, experience, education, and area of expertise. The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in public health, business, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Conditions of Employment

    Must possess and maintain current valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, satisfactory driving record, and personal automobile liability insurance. Must be willing and able to drive own vehicle for work (state mileage reimbursement available.)Must be able to have a flexible schedule including occasional weekends, evenings, before school starts and after school ends. Must have and use a personal data phone for daily use.
 

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with research and program evaluation experience, especially in public health.
