JOB SUMMARY:Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Success Initiatives, the Executive Director of Strategic Enrollment and Student Success Initiatives will provide comprehensive leadership for the collection, analysis, and application of enrollment digital technologies, directing data analysis, driving project completion, and working closely cross-sectionally for the implementation of the comprehensive strategic enrollment plan and initiatives for effectiveness, ensuring state, federal compliance requirements are met. The Executive Director of Strategic Enrollment and Student Success Initiatives is a leadership position, developing and providing relevant and actionable outcomes to help drive continuous improvement, scholarly endeavors, and innovative advancements for, and in collaboration with key stakeholders for implementation, alignment, and coordination of strategies and initiatives to achieve the college’s mission and goals. Working in collaboration with TSU stakeholders, the Executive Director of Strategic Enrollment and Student Success Initiatives provides leadership, administrative direction, and oversight of initiatives in areas including, but not limited to digital technologies, operational efficiency, program quality, resource allocation, data analysis, coordinated dissemination, reporting, and process improvement. The Executive Director will provide supervision for enrollment marketing and branding, digital strategies and technology, campus events, and auxiliary services for student success.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:The (Executive Director of Strategic Enrollment and Student Success Initiatives) will have a knowledge of collecting, analyzing, and the application of data processes and digital technologies providing direction directing technology innovations and driving project completion working closely with senior staff in implementing strategic planning, assessment, student success, and retention initiatives. The (Executive Director of Strategic Enrollment and Student Success Initiatives) is responsible for developing strategic planning and policy protocols, providing relevant and actionable outcomes to help drive continuous improvement, and collaborating with key stakeholders in implementing strategies and initiatives to achieve the college’s mission and goals. This position requires a strong understanding of enrollment and student success strategies, a proven track record of scholarship, and leadership for student achievement and development, decision-making, institutional alignment, data analysis, and management skills. The (Executive Director of Strategic Enrollment and Student Success Initiatives) will use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.

Essential Duties Summary:

  • Managing project expectations with team members and other university stakeholders.
  • Aligning efforts across teams and locations.
  • Generating metrics to measure team and project impact and hold the team accountable for success.
  • Manages the life cycle of strategic enrollment initiatives to completion, including acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of college-wide teams, district personnel, and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.
  • Drives collaboration between departments to improve institutional systems, structures, and resource allocation to increase student access and goal attainment in the institutional effectiveness program. Examples of cross-departmental work may include:
  • Working with the leadership to operationalize vision, strategy, and plans.
  • Manages the strategy and scholarly functions of the Enrollment and Student Success and supports skills development stakeholders for strategic problem-solving, planning, and performance management.
  • Works closely with college constituents that are responsible for meeting compliance requirements from the state, federal, and other external entities, ensuring reporting needs are supported.
  • Propose new strategies and gain resource commitments to improve operations, program quality, student outcomes, and satisfaction.
  • Develops a proactive and robust approach to data management to ensure the enrollment and student success reporting structure are accurate, easily accessible, and directly relevant to the work of enrollment and student success.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with the sociological issues facing urban, underrepresented, first-generation, and income-needs persons in college and in the community.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and communicate with a diverse array of constituencies.
  • Ability to be adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrate the highest level of service and response.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with the highest discretion.
  • Ability to design, communicate, and implement regulations, codes, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Hiring Range:

$73,417.00 - $91,771.00

Education:

Master’s degree or a Doctorate.

Work Experience:

Five (5) years of experience with leading, planning, and monitoring student recruitment and retention activities that include new student success initiatives.

Working/Environmental Conditions:

  • Sitting or standing in one location much of the time.
  • Some stooping, lifting, or carrying objects lightweight may be required.
  • Use of video display terminal.
  • May require routine travel.
