- Demonstrates readiness and enthusiasm to teach 100- and/or 200- level Anatomy and Physiology lecture and lab classes, as well as Biology 112 Cell Biology for Health Occupations, which serves as a prerequisite course for 200-level Anatomy and PhysiologyDemonstrates experience and/or readiness in collaboratively developing, implementing, and refining culturally responsive curriculum and practices to support equitable student success across a wide range of student experiences; language diversity; socioeconomic diversity; and cultural, ethnic, racial, and gender identitiesDemonstrates ability and enthusiasm to work collaboratively to coordinate and build community with other full-time and part-time faculty who teach the classes listed in the first success criterion. - Master’s degree in the subject area or Master’s degree in related area plus 30 quarter hours of graduate credit in subject area.

The Division Dean, consultation with the Faculty Department chair will make a recommendation to the Dean of Instruction about the applicability of a particular degree that is outside the scope of this list. The Department Chair can determine the applicability of a particular degree to teaching a specific biology course.Starting Salary ExpectationsInitial Salary Placement will be up to Step 3 ($62,665) based on related experience, per PCC's collective bargaining agreement.Position Grade Salary Range$58780 to $99564 Annual SalaryFTE1PCC BenefitsPCC offers a comprehensive benefit package designed to provide employees and their families, including domestic partners, with access to a broad range of benefit options. PCC currently funds the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS/OPSRP) pension and contributes an additional 6% into the employee's Individual Account Program under PERS/OPSRP. A portion of the 6% will be diverted to The Employee Pension Stability Account as mandated by Senate Bill 1049. PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement.
Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for courses offered at PCC for yourself, domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age; plus partial tuition reimbursement for yourself at other accredited institutions.
* Please note: Temporary Full-Time Faculty are not eligible for Personal Leave Days, Life Insurance, Long-term Disability, or AD&D Insurance.
Paid Leave:
- 1 day of sick leave for every 18 days worked (~10 per year)
- 21 hours of additional personal leave per year
- 4 paid holidays (which occur during the term you are teaching)
Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation.
Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard.
