Vitreoretinal Surgeon (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor)
Salary and rank will be commensurate with credentials and experience. The College of Medicine also has an active faculty compensation plan which includes incentives and bonuses. Employer will assist with relocation costs. This position will be either clinical track or tenure track depending upon qualifications. The primary responsibilities of this position include:
Provide clinical evaluation/treatment and surgical intervention of vitreoretinal diseases
Work with current faculty to provide a training environment for medical residents and students
Create, enhance and maintain a prompt, patient friendly, cost effective clinical service
Actively participate in teaching conferences, lectures, grand rounds, journal club and any other related meetings
Participate in after hours and emergency on-call coverage
Undertake clinics outside Gainesville as required
Perform research responsibilities as assigned
Commensurate with education and experience
Completion of an approved ophthalmic residency program as well as postgraduate fellowship training in retina/vitreous diseases and surgery. Board certification or eligibility, and eligibility for unrestricted licensure in Florida are required.
Qualifications, in addition to clinical expertise and excellent surgical skills, include a strong commitment to teaching and resident/fellow training.
