Position Summary::

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking a Facilities Services Technician I who has knowledge and expertise in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems maintenance and repair, performs a variety of skilled maintenance work to repair, and remodel College buildings, facilities, electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and fixtures; as assigned. Employee will safely operate College vehicles and equipment; practices safe work processes and contributes to the creation and maintenance of a safe working environment for self and others. This is a Tier I job position.

Staff Required Education/Experience::

• High School or equivalent
• Valid NC Driver’s license, with a good driving record
• One to three year(s) experience of mechanical, carpentry , industrial, building maintenance, and equipment operator, general maintenance or other related experience
• HVAC experience a plus but not required

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities::

Knowledge of: Basic methods, materials, and equipment required for the maintenance, alteration, repair and operation of building systems; ability to maintain records and to prepare requisitions and job orders; ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with college staff and faculty.

Ability to use a computer and essential software applications such as building management systems, email, work order software, preventive maintenance software, and some word processing is required. Basic proficiency in the use of a computer and essential software applications such as email and some word processing is required.

Focused Industrial Training designs innovative educational programs for the service region's manufacturing sector.

Literacy Services offer adults the opportunity for meaningful social and occupational growth through Adult Basic Education (ABE), Human Resources Development (HRD), and the High School Equivalency Program (GED).
