Position Summary:

The Systems Analyst is responsible for coordinating the design and/or modification of computer system process activities. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

    Responsible for design, management, implementation, maintenance, and operations of web applications as well as server maintenance, implementation and integration of 3rd party systems for the Jonesboro campus and additional ASU System sitesResponsible for design, deployment, support, and training of web applicationsMonitor and identify capacity, quality and performance issues for applications as well as the servers on which they are housedAssist in monitoring network systems for potential problemsPerform any and all server baseline functions such as maintaining and updating VM machinesProvides project management for development of web applicationsCreate and maintain databases for use by various units of the ASU SystemResponsible for customized designs and deployments to meet customer's needs and budgetSupports single sign on integrations with 3rd party vendorsProvide assistance to help desk and other Information & Technology departments to ensure optimal customer service to campus constituentsCoordinate with IT security and systems teams to provide secure and consistent authentication to IT resourcesOther duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of computer system hardware and software, computer user requirements, and system design procedures

Ability to develop computer programs, analyze and modify existing computer systems, assist analyst team in the design and maintenance of computer system processes, and determine costs and resource requirements of projects

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of an earned Bachelor's Degree with a major in computer science, mathematics, or related field

Four (4) years of experience in computer programming or related area, including one (1) year in systems analysis

Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee

The Arkansas State University System is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees appointed by the Governor of Arkansas to serve staggered seven-year terms. The trustees hire the system president, approve the curriculum, annually approve an operating budget, and establish policies for the efficient and effective operation of the institutions.
