Schedule: TBD by the needs of department and student schedule between office hours of 8-6:30 Monday-Thursday, 9:30-4:30 Friday, 9-12 Saturday. Maximum 20 hours per week.

Job Description:

1. Greets, assists and guides students (and guests) about the available student resources and services, whether virtual or on campus. These may include website student resources and functions such as:a.  CougarWeb, b. the CougarWeb student menu, c. FAFSA applications, d. admission applications, e. financial aid services, f. registration services, g. Blackboard, h. student formsi. Ohio Residency, etc.  2. Commits to ongoing conversations, training and development as needed. 3. Ability to work at Student Central on Columbus campus.

4. Ability to use Teams, a remote software application that allows staff to speak with and have visual contact with students. In some instances, phone calls and emails will be required as a form of communication.

5. Performs other duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
Knowledge of: computers (general computer literacy), including familiarity with CougarWeb services and Blackboard. Proficiency in typing.

Skill in: professionalism and providing friendly customer service. Written and verbal communications.

Ability to: complete all duties while maintaining strict confidentiality. Follow directions. Work a consistent, reliable schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires applicants to have Federal Work Study as part of their current Financial Aid package with Columbus State. You must also be enrolled in SIX or more credit hours in a degree or certificate program. Any applicants without Federal Work Study eligibility will not be considered for this position.

Applicants must have received a high school diploma or a certificate of attendance from an accredited secondary school or a certificate of high school equivalence and be exempt from Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4109. 

Must have reliable transportation or other means to get to work regularly. 

Students enrolled as Transient, College Credit Plus, Undecided, or otherwise non degree-seeking are not considered eligible for Student Employment. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
Previous customer service experience.
