Position Summary

This position will be responsible for processing all students’ fee transactions using the CashNet system. This includes, but not limited to, processing test fees, library fees, i.d. card fees and transcript fees. Will reconcile money collected in CashNet; close and open new CashNet batches. Responsible for preparing bank deposits. Responsible for submitting weekly deposit reports to SDSU San Diego campus. Will be custodian for the change fund. Will create new student’s Red ID#s. Will be responsible for collecting registration fees for College of Extended Studies. Will submit documentation and fees to the College of Extended Studies for processing. Process and submit student refund requests. Responsible for requesting and processing payments for student, faculty and staff parking permits. Process cross enrollment fees and submit documents to San Diego and the Office of the Registrar. Will maintain records for key inventory for the Imperial Valley and issue keys to faculty, staff and students as requested. Collect fines for lost keys. Collect, review and record faculty and staff travel claims and forward to Accounts Payable for processing. Monitor and update Professional Growth budgets and grant budgets related to travel and professional growth. Receive, record and distribute faculty and staff payroll and travel checks. Attend IRA Committee meetings and assist the committee as needed. Will receive and record package deliveries and update system as necessary

This is a full time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position with a duration of 6 months and a day. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in Imperial Valley.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to one year of clerical accounting or financial record-keeping experience which has provided the above knowledge and abilities.

Any combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

    Bilingual – English/Spanish Knowledge of CashNet operating system Experience in working budgets Experience creating reports in excel files
Compensation and Benefits

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources. Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $3,268 per month.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,126- $4,906 per month.

SDSU COVID-19 Vaccine Policy

In accordance with the California State University systemwide policy, students, faculty, and staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide a valid medical or religious exemption in order to access campus. An individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose of a two-shot vaccine or two weeks after the first dose of a single-shot vaccine.

The individual hired into this role will be required to submit their completed vaccination documentation to the university’s secure online health portal prior to beginning work. Individuals with an approved medical or religious exemption on file with the university will be required to participate in SDSU’s COVID-19 testing program.
