The University of Portland’s School of Nursing (nursing.up.edu) welcomes applications for full-time tenure-track nursing faculty at the assistant and associate professor levels. These positions begin August 2022.

The undergraduate and doctoral programs are built on the interconnectedness of individual social needs, clinical care and community conditions.

Successful candidates will have a high level of enthusiasm and engagement in innovative pedagogy. The School of Nursing is ideally suited for candidates with a focus on cultivating human learning capacity. The School of Nursing implements state of the art simulation in ambulatory, acute, and telemedicine facilities.

All faculty teach across programs, as well as assist students in achievement of course objectives, guide student interaction in course-related work groups, and grade coursework and provide feedback.

Undergraduate baccalaureate generalist nurse faculty job responsibilities include but are not limited to team teaching in a concept-based nursing curriculum across the lifespan and care continuum.

Graduate faculty job responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching in the Doctor of Nursing Practice-Family Nurse Practitioner and/or Adult-Gero Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Programs.

Educational, Experience & Licensing Requirements:

Required: Doctoral degree in Nursing or other health-related field (PhD, DNP, EdD); Active unencumbered license as an Oregon RN.

Preferred: For DNPs, national certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse (FNP, AGACNP or AGPCNP); 1-3 years of related practical/professional experience in a team-teaching concept-based curriculum.
