Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) is a multi-campus institution with vibrant, urban campuses in Boston, Massachusetts, in nearby Chelsea, Massachusetts, and at several satellites and instructional sites throughout the Greater Boston area. The largest of the 15 community colleges in Massachusetts, BHCC serves some 18,000 students annually, focusing on holistic student services to ensure student retention and persistence. The College offers certificates and associate degrees, early college and dual enrollment, non-credit community and corporate training, and industry-specific training programs. Job Description:


Adjunct instructors needed to teach English courses in the Chelsea High School (CHS) Early College Program in spring 2022 and beyond.


Students in the CHS Early College Program participate in an accelerated pathway program from high school to college, allowing them to graduate high school with significant college credits.


Spring 2022 CHS Early College courses will be offered at BHCC's Chelsea Campus.



Requirements:


  • Master's degree in English, Literacy, Composition/Rhetoric, Writing, or Teaching of Writing required for teaching English courses; master's degree or doctorate in a related field with core coursework in English will be considered if graduate transcript(s) are submitted with application
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population
  • Teaching experience required; community college teaching experience preferred
  • Fluency or Proficiency in Spanish a plus
  • Experience teaching in Learning Communities a plus

Faculty must complete the Chelsea Public School's authorization for Criminal Offender's Record Information (CORI) and fingerprinting requirement. CPS reserves the right to reject the assignment of any faculty member if it is deemed in the best interest of CPS. BHCC will be responsible for the cost of fingerprinting.

Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) is a multi-campus urban institution, its main campus situated in the historic Charlestown neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. A second campus is located in nearby Chelsea, Massachusetts; five satellites are located in the local communities of Cambridge, Chinatown, Revere, Somerville and Boston’s South End.

Founded in 1973 by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, BHCC enrolls more than 8,100 students in day, evening, weekend, web-based and distance learning courses and programs. The College offers more than 68 associate degree and certificate programs that prepare students for successful employment and transfer to four-year universities.
