Position Reports to: Director of Student Experience
Specific Responsibilities: The Student Center Manager – Part-time shall be responsible for performing the following functions and activities:
Manage and supervise the operations of the Student Center on a part-time, flexible schedule which includes weekends with the possibility of some evenings and College-recognized holidays. Accurately and efficiently process all opening and closing responsibilities. Ensure the department meets established service standards and departmental goals. Carry-out weekend program and event responsibilities, as directed by the department. Effectively communicate with management, business partners, and all members of the college community on a regular basis.
Take appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and participate in the College’s efforts to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for opening, closing, clearing, and securing the facility, including but not limited to reporting any security, maintenance, or physical maintenance issues to proper personnel.
- Plan and execute weekend events for students in conjunction with Student Center operations, e.g. Study Sundays.
- Resolve customer service problems, student issues, and questions from all members of the community.
- Supervise room setup: this includes checking that Student Center setup accurately reflects standard operating setup and/or special setup for events and reservations.
- At the conclusion of events, secure all equipment and execute facility turnover.
- Manage crises that may arise such as injuries, physical confrontations, etc., and maintain a safe environment for all patrons.
- Coordinate operations with the building staff to ensure outstanding facility cleanliness and services.
- Management of student gaming equipment, e.g. billiards, foosball, and video gaming equipment.
- Manage the weekend operation of the mail services department.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses)
High school diploma or equivalent plus building management and event planning experience: or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree preferred.

Additional Information
Proposed work schedule:
Friday: 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (6 hours)
Saturday: 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (8 hours, 1-hour meal break)
Sunday: 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (6 hours)
Position filled when students are in residence and during College-recognized holidays.
