The Department of Health Sciences’ approach to education is grounded in experiential learning with a strong focus on integrating community engagement, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration throughout the spectrum of learning opportunities.
A diverse, interdisciplinary, and growing department, Health Sciences comprises 45 faculty engaged in research, teaching, and practice. In the last five years, full-time faculty have grown by 25% and graduate students have grown by more than 150%. The undergraduate program has seen even more robust growth, having increased from 127 students in 2008 to more than 900 in 2021.

An earned doctoral degree in public health or a related health profession, including but not limited to medicine or the biological or social sciences, is required.
