Technical Assistant – Rome Student Services (PT)
Salary: $25.00 per hour

The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking a part-time Student Services Technical Assistant at the Student Services Center on the Rome Campus. TheStudent Services Technical Assistant assiststhe Coordinator of Accessibility Resources and the Accessibility ResourcesTransitional Support Specialist with day-to-day functions of the Office ofAccessibility Resources as well as provides technical support toassist in the efficient operation of Rome Student Services.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Advocates on behalf of students with disabilities, and teaches them self-advocacy skills;
- Monitors the receipt and quality of classroom-generated notes;
- Schedules, prepares and administers accommodative testing, including but not limited to, converting tests electronically or other alternate accommodative testing format;
- Triages student needs and implements student communications;
- Assists faculty with accommodative testing;
- Purchases and/or creates electronic and other alternate formats for textbooks and other class materials;
- Assists with the mentoring, training, and evaluation of testing assistants, readers, student note-takers and interpreting staff;
- Documents, maintains, and reviews case records, notes and related information in electronic files;
- Performs technical work to assist in the efficient operation of Rome Student Services;
- General supervision of Rome Student Activities;
- Assists professional or administrative staff in the routine operation of Rome Student Services;
- Maintains and adheres to departmental confidentiality, including FERPA guidelines with regards to all communication;
- Utilizes College systems and programs (Banner, Argos, OnBase, etc..) with proficiency;
- Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Accessibility Resources and the Associate Dean for Student Development and Transition Services.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience working in higher education
