The Occupational Therapy Program in the Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Science at the University of Vermont (UVM) invites applications for a full time, Doctoral Capstone Coordinator, 9-month clinical faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor to begin in August, 2022.Successful candidates must be an occupational therapist with at least 2 years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist, be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Vermont, and hold a doctoral degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency. Administrative responsibilities for this position include development of the entire capstone portion of the program; guiding students through the capstone process; establishing Memoranda of Understanding for the capstone experiences; ensuring compliance with Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education standards; and managing all aspects of the capstone process. Responsibilities for this position also include teaching, developing scholarship, and performing service and clinical practice to support and advance the missions of the department, college, and university.Preference will be given to candidates who have a record of · Experience as a Capstone Coordinator· Successful teaching, or potential for outstanding teaching, at the college level and/or related field experience· Advising students· Building successful partnerships with community agencies· Promoting and engaging in practices that support student engagement and active learning· Collaborating with university faculty and the community of practice. The ideal candidate will have clinical experience in the area of pediatrics, adult rehabilitation, and/or mental health. The UVM entry-level OTD program is a developing program; thus, candidates with flexible and creative thinking are desired. The UVM Entry-Level Doctorate in Occupational Therapy program is currently in the candidacy phase of accreditation. It is designed with a strong experiential learning component that blends the art and science of the occupational therapy profession. It is an integral component of the Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Science in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
