SUNY Sullivan invites applications for a full-time, entry-level, tenure-track position in English/Composition. The successful candidate will teach primarily composition and developmental English. We are especially interested in those with experience teaching developmental English, including innovative approaches to working with under-prepared learners.
SUNY Sullivan faculty have the primary responsibility of teaching and assessing student learning. Faculty duties include teaching, advising, working toward continuous improvement to pedagogy and discipline specific content, service to the College through shared governance, and sharing one’s expertise in Sullivan County. This position reports to the Dean of Liberal Arts, Sciences and Health Sciences. This position is classified as Faculty and the incumbent is a member of the Professional Staff Association.
At least two years experience teaching appropriate college-level courses
Masters Degree with a concentration in Composition or Literature, and training in teaching writing.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and possess the ability to effectively interact with a diverse student and staff population.
Hold appropriate office hours.
Take part, as need in typical activities of a full-time faculty member, including the following: advising/mentoring students, developing curriculum, recruiting students and attending division and faculty
