Research Assistant, Department of Biology - Georgetown College

Requirements

The Department of Biology in Georgetown College, at Georgetown University, laboratory design promotes meaningful and productive interactions, while numerous study spaces support innovative and collaborative education. This, combined with their strong ties to the research-oriented Georgetown Medical School, the NIH, and other universities in the DC area, provide an exceptional environment for learning and scholarship.

The position of Research Assistant is for research in epidemiological modeling of infectious diseases. The Research Assistant will carry out data cleaning, data analysis, literature review, manuscript writing and research presentations.

The position of Research Assistant will report to Dr. Shweta Bansal who leads the Bansal Research Group in the Department of Biology, and interact with other members of the research team. This position supports the research mission of Georgetown University.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and up to 2 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
  • Experience with marine fieldwork.
  • Experience with disease ecology.
  • Excellent communication, time management, attention to detail and organization skills are essential.
