The Oglethorpe University Chemistry Department is searching for a part-time general chemistry instructor for the Spring 2022 semester. Teaching responsibilities include CHM 102L: General Chemistry II Laboratory. The successful applicant will join a team of chemistry faculty to work collectively to deliver the laboratory components of the sequenced portion of our chemistry curriculum. The current chemistry faculty are continuously updating the introductory chemistry series and would be receptive to the addition of new modules/content as well. Each section of lab enrolls no more than 18 students, so the learning environment is ideal for one-on-one faculty-student interactions and for implementing innovative pedagogical strategies. Successful applicants must have a history of collaborating productively and enthusiastically with other colleagues and must be interested in progressive, student-centered models of chemistry instruction. Applicants will be expected to foster an inclusive learning environment by engaging in/promoting diverse teaching, learning, and mentoring communities.

Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field. Candidates with an M.S. or who are ABD (all but dissertation) will also be considered.

Compensation:
Compensation will be determined based on the number of credit hours taught.

Starting and Ending Dates:
The first day of class for the Spring 2022 semester is February 2^nd and the last day of class is May 10^th. Finals are conducted May 11^th 17^th with course grades due on May 24^th.
