Wilkes University invites applicants for an Executive Director of Global Engagement. The Office of Global Engagement helps to bring the world to Wilkes - and Wilkes to the world - sharing in each other’s languages, cultures and people.

Reporting to the Provost & Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Executive Director of Global Engagement will develop and implement a university-wide strategic plan for global engagement. In addition to strategic leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing operational oversight for study abroad programs, international initiatives (such as the University’s Panama Program), services for the international communities on campus, and overseeing the Intensive English Program.

A Master’s degree is required. A Doctorate degree in education, linguistics, international affairs or related fields preferred. Doctorates in other disciplines with demonstrated experience in global education and English Language programs will also be considered.

The ideal candidate will have 4-6 year’s professional experience of program oversight, including prior supervisory experience in developing and conducting international programs at the university level, as well as experience in management and assessment of educational programs. Knowledge of global education with emphasis in the postsecondary level; English as a Second Language Education; Study Abroad, and Federal immigration regulations strongly preferred. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
