Primary Function:The Director of Digital Presence is responsible for developing, managing, and measuring the University’s digital properties and outreach to help achieve the institution’s admission, student success, advancement, and alumni relations goals.
Opportunities for Leadership:This newly created position will be an integral member of the Office of Marketing and Communications, will lead a dedicated team of content creators, and help build a community of digital partners across campus. For the ideal candidate, this is a unique opportunity to envision, create, and support a critical part of the University’s marketing strategy.
This position reports to the Associate Vice President for Marketing and Communication.

Position Description

Typical Duties & Responsibilities:

Own the strategic direction, execution, and measurement for all digital marketing efforts, including:, the university’s social media platforms, and online promotion.

Be a resource to department chairs, program directors, advancement teams, and others as they execute their digital strategy to achieve clear and measurable objectives.

Provide strategic direction to create dynamic and engaging interactive experiences for prospective families, alumni, donors, and other key constituents across all digital platforms.

Identify digital trends and understand new technologies and apply them to create effective marketing initiatives.

Budgetary Responsibility: Analyzes budgetary data and develops budget proposals.

Attributes of a Successful Candidate

Education:Bachelor’s degree required. Masters degree preferred.

Experience:Minimum of five years of full-time professional experience in digital communications, including demonstrable success developing & implementing digital marketing campaigns; creating content for and tracking the performance of social media platforms; managing websites and optimizing them for SEO. A familiarity with higher education marketing best practices at a liberal arts college, preferred

Job Related Skills:

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively with a diverse set of team members, colleagues, and students.

Proficiency with Facebook Ads Manager, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Emma, Microsoft Office and/or Google Drive applications.

Experience working with CRM and CMS systems, preferably Slate and BigTree web content management systems.

Licenses/Certifications: None required. Proficiency with Facebook Ads Manager, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Emma, Microsoft Office and/or Google Drive applications preferred.Supplemental Information
