The Department of Mathematics (www.ecu.edu/cs-cas/math) is one of the sixteen departments of the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences at East Carolina University. The department houses a research-active community, publishing across a variety of fields including mathematics, statistics, applied mathematics, and actuarial science. BA, BS, and MA degrees in mathematics are offered, all with concentrations in statistics available.

The Department of Mathematics values interdisciplinary research and has collaborated with faculty in Biology, Medicine, Physics, and Mathematics Education, as well as having educational initiatives with a number of departments. Job Duties :

East Carolina University, Greenville, NC, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Statistics in the Department of Mathematics, contingent upon funding, beginning August 16, 2022.

The successful applicant is expected to effectively teach courses in statistics and probability at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, establish and/or continue an active research program, pursue external funding, help promote our undergraduate and graduate programs, and provide appropriate service to the department, university, profession, and community.

Minimum Education/Experience :

A Ph.D in Statistics or closely related field is required.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :

Applicants having statistical expertise that could be the basis of collaboration within STEM disciplines or the School of Medicine at ECU are especially encouraged to apply.
