This is a part time position 20 hours a week, 9 months per year. Under the direction of the Ministry Associate for Discipleship, the Discipleship Ministries (DM) Graduate Student Fellow (GSF) is a part-time graduate student who serves within Discipleship Ministries – the umbrella organization for the various small group ministries on campus (DSG, UCDSG, Strongholds, and Family Groups). This is a two-year commitment.Responsibilities: Attend the graduate staff training retreat in AugustAssist in the planning and execution of student leadership training week and the DM small group leader training Attend 2 weekly meetings: one with the staff and one with cabinet members and staffMeet bi-weekly with the Ministry Associate for DiscipleshipLead weekly small groups a. This is a time of fostering spiritual maturity, providing spaces of rest and encouragement for coaches and cabinet members, ensuring that the small groups under their care are going well (troubleshooting), and that they are poured into. b. This is a time of leadership development – particularly around small group leadership and discipleship. They will brainstorm for and troubleshoot their own groups, as well as receive encouragement and guidance. Assist in planning and executing various trainings and events throughout the yearSupporting the student leaders in tasks as needs ariseSet achievable goals that enable the flourishing of the ministryOther duties as assignedBased on candidates skills and experience (and ministry needs), you may work with one or two of the following ministries- DSG & UCDSG: Experience and passion for discipleship and spiritual formation, scripture engagement, and prayer is required Strongholds: Interest and experience in Gospel-centered approaches to sexuality, sexual addiction, sexual sin, and shame is required Family Groups: Cultural competency and racial consciousness around Asian and Asian American issues is requiredQualifications: 1. Former experience contributing to/leading in the spiritual formation of young adults preferred 2. Evidence of Christian character and commitment 3. Highly organized & self-motivated with strong administrative & collaborative skills 4. Understand issues related to gender and racial identity development 5. Biblically and Theologically inclined, formal training/education is a plus 6. Leadership ability and mentoring experience 7. Good communication and management skills 8. Interested in developing relationships with students
