Job Description:


Manage (e.g., performance, scheduling, inventory) vendors of the facilities department, including but not limited to custodial, landscaping, pest control, waste hauling, recycling, hazardous waste disposal, vending, and window washing. In addition, this position is responsible for managing inventory, budget and quality of assets such as furniture and other equipment.


Job Duties


  • Manage performance and scheduling of our Custodial and Landscaping Auxiliary Services providers;
  • Manage performance and scheduling of providers of pest control, waste hauling, recycling, hazardous waste disposal, vending, window washing and other vendors as required;
  • Manage inventory and maintenance of movable assets such as furniture - including outdoor furniture, vehicles and other assets as required;
  • Manage purchasing and inventory management of custodial products including paper goods, dispensers, cleaning products, hand sanitizer, alcohol wipes, plexiglass and other supplies as required by job duties;
  • Investigate improvements to services and purchasing related to required duties to improve efficiency, customer service and cost control;
  • Work with our Custodial Services partner to keep the College's building interiors clean, sanitary and safe;
  • Work with our Custodial Services provider's on-site manager to develop, implement and monitor cleaning schedules, quality and priorities;
  • Manage in-house Custodial staff to keep the College's building interiors, exteriors and grounds clean, sanitary and safe;
  • Manage in-house Custodial and Events Support staff to develop, implement and monitor schedules, procedures and priorities;
  • Work with our Landscape Services provider's account manager to develop, implement and monitor landscape maintenance and snow and ice removal schedules and priorities;
  • Assure that Auxiliary Service partners comply with the College's standards of operation, safety and customer service;
  • Review, code and approve invoices for all vendors pertinent to job duties;
  • Forward all coded and approved invoices to supervisor for final approval;
  • Perform and document inspections of all buildings and grounds to assure College standards are met;
  • Position requires frequent hands-on, active participation in cleaning and events support duties;
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Managerial and Supervisory Responsibilities


  • Supervise two in-house custodians;
  • Supervise one events support coordinator.

Hours


  • Monday through Friday (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
  • Schedule must be flexible, including evening and weekend coverage.


Requirements:


  • 4 or more years of experience in similar functions, management of staff, and outside vendors, required;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word), required;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, required;
  • Strong cost control and problem solving skills, required;
  • Ability to develop harmonious relationships with College community and vendors, required;
  • Valid U.S. Driver's license, required;
  • Bi-lingual speaking (English and Spanish or Portuguese) required;
  • Experience working in a similar role in higher education, preferred;
  • Experience using SchoolDude work order system, preferred;
  • COVID-19 Vaccination, required.

Physical Requirements


  • Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps;
  • Move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces;
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods;
  • Move around campus to various work sites throughout the day;
  • Adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions;
  • Repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers;
  • Operate machinery and/or power tools;
  • Operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment;
  • Work outside during a variety of weather conditions (e.g., snow, rain, heat).
