Milton Hershey School (MHS) is seeking an Admissions Counselor and Recruiter (ACR) to be based in Western PA. The ACR plays a key role in ensuring that MHS reaches enrollment goals in recruiting a diverse pre-K through age 15 student demographic so that MHS can reach growth goals of serving at least 2,300 students from under-resourced settings.
Responsibilities include:
- Pro-actively contributing to the development of annual student recruitment strategies.
- Implementing the recruitment plan within region.
- Traveling to Hershey at least 1 week a month for EMFR related activities and to meet with prospective families.
- Maintaining a highly pro-active approach to developing relationships with key influencers & stakeholders in their assigned territory.
- Developing an in-depth knowledge of assigned regions and developing a localized and trusted brand awareness of MHS in said regions.
- Extensively and effectively interacting with and communicating with the communities in assigned regions to discern & guide qualified applicants.
- Collaborate with Enrollment Processors to facilitate the application process for students.
- Support student enrollment events.
- Develop engaged MHS Enrollment advocates from stakeholder communities including regional alumni.
- Contribute to student retention efforts.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and troubleshooting.
- Provide accurate reporting & manage budget.
- Maintaining a highly pro-active approach to developing relationships with key influencers & stakeholders.
- Developing a localized and trusted brand awareness of MHS in said regions and serve as the point person for referring professionals.
- Planning, exhibiting, and executing outreach events, campus visits, and special events.
- Develop and leverage virtual outreach and web-based capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Marketing, Communications, Social Work, or affiliated field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a relevant recruitment capacity which includes relationship development, brand development and achieving required outcomes/results.
- Proficient in using Microsoft applications and databases.
- Driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability to travel extensively.
- Exceptional skills in multi-tasking and organizing.
- Demonstrated ability to meet goals and maintain high degree of accountability.
- Interpersonally skilled in educating, guiding, inspiring and counseling.
- Must have a capability to effectively work within under-resourced communities.
- Demonstrated skills in collaborating with others – staff, communities, influencers, stakeholders and volunteers.
- Resourceful and innovative. Analytical. Excellent Communicator.
- High degree of grit and initiative.
- Fluency in Spanish a plus.
- Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are considered role models for students.
- Candidates should be eager to engage with students and families.
