Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree and have board certification or have completed an approved residency of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology or European College of Veterinary Dermatology. Appointment at the associate professor rank requires a minimum of five years of experience in a similar position; appointment at the rank of full professor requires attainment of tenure in a similar position at an academic institution.

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will join a dermatology service with one full-time faculty member, a dedicated technician, and a resident. The dermatology service currently maintains a diverse caseload with ongoing clinical research projects and opportunities for teaching students and house officers. Complete on-site clinical, diagnostic, and pathology facilities permit diagnostics and treatment of dermatology patients, and the new UGA Veterinary Teaching Hospital is staffed with specialists in surgery, oncology, neurology, internal medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology, emergency and critical care, dermatology, anesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, anatomic and clinical pathology, and zoological medicine. The dermatology service has STORZ HD video-otoscopy unit with Vet Pump. Holmium:YAG and diode lasers are available within the hospital for procedures as needed. Responsibilities include clinical service, research, and teaching. Faculty assignment will be based on the interests of the candidate in conjunction with the missions of the dermatology program. The successful candidate is welcome to actively participate in collaborative efforts and encouraged to establish an independent research program. Shared laboratory space and technical support are provided within the Department. The individual will share responsibilities in clinical service, didactic teaching, and clinical teaching of professional students, interns, and residents.
