Job Summary:

The Senior Director provides leadership, oversight, andcoordination of institutional research and planning, and significant support tocampus assessment and accreditation activities. The position works closely witha broad range of internal and external constituents to carry out activities andensure that results are incorporated into college planning and continuousimprovement efforts.

The Senior Director is responsible for the development anddissemination of descriptive and analytical data related to academic andadministrative programs, institutional and programmatic accreditation, institutional effectiveness,outcomes assessment and program review, and required local, state, federal, andaccreditation reporting.

Essential Job Functions:

    Provides leadership for and implements an institutional research and assessment agenda for the campus; develops, coordinates, and maintains an annual calendar of ongoing and ad-hoc institutional research and assessment reporting, activities and milestones.
    Responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all data produced and distributed internally and externally.
    Works with faculty, staff and institutional leaders to develop priorities and benchmarks that link planning with institutional/program improvement and monitors progress.
    Hires, orients, supervises, and evaluates staff. Establishes priorities for work assignments, monitors progress, and reviews work products to ensure information is delivered in a timely manner.
    Directs environmental scanning efforts to support the planning process, and works to establish and maintain effective linkages between college planning, budgeting, assessment and the OSU-OKC student/graduate experience.
    Works with faculty and instructional and student services administrators to carry out effective program/function review and assessment processes; facilitates use of assessment results in unit and campus planning.
    Provides assistance and counsel in the analysis and interpretation of data and takes a leadership role in promoting the use of information in college decision-making.
    Directs the preparation of statistical reports as required/requested by federal and state agencies, other colleges and universities, professional organizations, accreditation organizations, and other external entities. Serves as the official contact for federal reporting purposes (e.g., IPEDS) as mandated by law.
    Works with faculty and staff to develop models, measures, core indicators, and benchmarks that link planning with institutional/program improvement.
    Develops systems and formats to ensure that key information, current and historical, is available and easily accessible by staff, students, and community members. Works with Information Technology, Marketing & Communications, and other internal constituents to design and implement innovative solutions for displaying and disseminating information.Monitors changes/trends in the external environment (i.e., regulatory, political, higher education, economic, etc.) and determines resulting implications for Institutional Effectiveness and the University; anticipates information needs and positions the unit to fulfill such needs.Formulates and recommends unit’s annual departmental budget.
    Assures the confidentiality of data, including sensitive information related to students and employees.
    Responsible for the fulfillment of all accreditation-related data needs.
    Consults with academic units in developing, measuring, and analyzing both student learning outcomes and performance outcomes as related to the campus Strategic Plan.
    Consults with administrative units in developing, measuring, and analyzing performance outcomes for the campus Strategic Plan.
    Maintains a comprehensive institutional assessment database and reports on Institutional Assessment activities as requested/appropriate.Oversees OSU-OKC’s Assessment Plan, determines a common timetable for assessment stages, and advises all assessment activities by aiding with the selection of assessable criteria and the selection or development of appropriate instruments.
    Prepares and distributes an annual report on the assessment of institutional, departmental, and program student learning outcomes and strategic planning objectives.
    Provides for the assessment-related professional development of faculty and staff by arranging and facilitating learning opportunities, and maintaining a library of assessment resources, ideas, and materials.
    Builds and maintains a repository of current resources and information about national assessment issues by attending appropriate professional development activities, procuring relevant publications, and coordinating organization and storage of the repository with the campus Library.
    Recommends policies and procedures to improve OSU-OKC’s effectiveness in the delivery of programs and services.
    Maintain positive relationships with all campus units to ensure effective and efficient operations.
    Support, provide leadership to and coordinate efforts of staff working within the office of Institutional Effectiveness.
    Completes all mandatory training and participates in a minimum of two professional developments each year.
    Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in one of thefollowing: Analytics/Data Science, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Education ora related field that includes coursework in quantitative and qualitative methodologies.

Work Experience:
Minimum five years of responsible professional workexperience in institutional research, data analysis, and/or academiceffectiveness or equivalent.

Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:

    Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills; must be proficient with common statistical and quantitative research methodologies.
    Critical thinking: Must be able to evaluate data to proactively identify areas for ongoing improvement based on findings.
    Proficiency in computer applications, including databases, spreadsheets, online assessment software, survey tools, and analytics applications. Demonstrated knowledge of office technologies including but not limited to scanners, the internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    Attention to detail, as work will be used to make campus-wide decisions with a wide range of impact.
    Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills in handling, directing, and prioritizing multiple and complex assignments and projects with frequent deadlines, peak workloads, and public/student contact.
    Ability to communicate with internal and external constituencies in a professional manner, including articulating the institution’s planning, assessment, and effectiveness functions with clarity and enthusiasm.
    Ability to make presentations of data/findings that are clear, visually appealing and with appropriate use of available data resources and technologies to meet informational needs of varied audiences.
    Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to respond professionally and courteously to common inquiries or concerns from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the community.
    Passion for assisting stakeholders and representing the OSU-OKC and OSU brands with positivity and professionalism.
    Ability to work in a sensitive, highly confidential and professional environment with a high degree of integrity and ethical behavior.

Preferred Qualifications:

    Graduate degree in one of the following: Analytics/Data Science, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Education or a related field that includes coursework in quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
    3+ years of experience in higher education analytics.
    Experience with Ellucian Banner, Cognos reporting software, and Tableau or other data visualization software.

Working Conditions:

    Must be able to work flexible hours to include some nights and weekends.
    Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone, via email, and various communication platforms.

Physical Requirements:

    Duties require extended periods of sitting, talking and listening.
    Duties require extensive use of computers, telephone and other office equipment.
    Requires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs. (If an object weights more than 45 lbs., OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two-person lift).
