The Department of History at the University of North Alabama invites applications for a tenure track assistant professorship in Native American history, specialty in Southeastern North America preferred, as part of the undergraduate and graduate programs in public history beginning Fall 2022. Responsibilities include teaching US history surveys, upper-level undergraduate courses, and graduate courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Further, the candidate will identify, develop, and manage public history projects at the university and in cooperation with the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area.
A Ph.D. in History is required. ABD status applicants will be considered provided that degree requirements are met by the time of appointment.
