General Responsibilities
Under administrative leadership, it is the responsibility of the regular/contract college instructor to teach classes, to participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs, courses, and other experiences that will directly result in the educational growth of the students and support advancement of the vision, mission, and values of the community college district.
CLASSIFICATION: Placement on the current Faculty Salary Schedule is commensurate with previous education and experience.
- Full-time instructional faculty are contracted to work 175 days per year including 164 days of classroom instruction and 11 days of professional growth and development. Instructors enjoy up to 18 weeks off per year during the summer and winter intercessions. The Fall and Spring semesters each contain 17 weeks of instruction with approximately 82 instructional days. The Fall semester begins in late August and ends in mid-December. The Spring semester begins in mid-January and ends in mid-May. The number of hours worked in any given day during a semester will vary based on course schedules. START DATE: This position is anticipated to start the beginning of the Fall 2022 semester. May be expected to teach at both the Redding and Red Bluff (Tehama) campuses).
