Job Summary

The Program Coordinator of the Office of Education Abroad oversees promotional and support programming for campus study abroad activities and manages the application process for study abroad programs. As part of these duties, the EOA PC will oversee the Wolves Abroad Peer Advisor program, develop and assess the effectiveness of promotional programming, liaise with program faculty and students and maintain up-to-date training on the study abroad application software. This individual will also represent the office on relevant campus committees and in USG consortia. The position has budget management responsibilities, and will also require the applicant to successfully pass a credit check for the pCard responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement extracurricular student support programming aimed at broadening student participation in and access to study abroad opportunities and at increasing engagement of study abroad returnees with OEA activities to include creating a schedule of promotional and returnee activities, coordinating speakers and cross-divisional workshops, proposing and implementing online content and promotional campaigns, updating the office website, assessing effectiveness of extracurricular programming in fulfilling departmental goals, and being involved in relevant student organizations
  • Serve as primary contact for faculty program leaders and their departmental support staff for issues related to application system (TerraDotta) maintenance, application and payment tracking, timing of scholarship distributions, risk management registrations, and related concerns
  • Communicate directly with program applicants campus-wide about missing and incomplete application materials, upcoming deadlines, scholarship give-back requirements and related information
  • Participate in ongoing training on TerraDotta system and make recommendations about updating processes based on current software release
  • Assist Director, as needed, with training and off-site due diligence for new faculty program leaders. In Director's absence, serve as emergency support contact for incidents that take place on UWG programs

  • Oversee Wolves Abroad Peer Advisor program, including selection, training, scheduling, supervising and ongoing mentoring of WAPA

  • Direct advising of students interested in short-term and exchange programs including advising on available courses, program requirements, application processes and funding opportunities. Assist incoming exchange students with development of course schedules

  • Serve as campus liaison for USG consortial study abroad programs (currently including European and Asia Councils) to include screening student applications, compiling course equivalencies in consultation with academic departments, maintaining communication with Council officers, working with UWG faculty participants to design recruitment programming and participating as the campus representative at state consortium meetings

  • Reconcile departmental budgets and coordinate office operations
  • Other duties as needed

Required Experience

  • MicroSoft Office programs experience, specifically Word, Excel, and Power Point; Experience with social media platforms

Proposed Salary

$35,796 - $42,840/annually
