Dr. Salhia’s Lab in the Department of Translational Genomics is seeking a post-doctoral fellow to become part of the team. The successful candidate will have both wet lab and dry lab expertise and should be able to apply their skills to grant-funded cancer epigenomics/genomics projects. The candidate should have advanced programming skills as well as have competence in molecular biology techniques including but not limited to PCR, tissue culture, next generation sequencing, genomics and epigenomics assays.
The candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be a team player. Good work ethics and commitment are necessary for a successful post-doctoral tenure in the lab.
The core job functions are:
- Knowledge in bioinformatics and molecular biology are mandatory for the position
- Wet lab duties in Molecular Biology, epigenomics and genomics
- Develop new algorithms for analyzing next-generation sequencing data, with an emphasis in DNA methylation data.
- Use existing tools to analyze data.Manuscript and post-doc grant preparation
Minimum Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within previous five yearsMinimum Experience: 0-1 yearMinimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods.
