Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota, is seeking a Registrar who is responsible for the student record concerning academic progress toward certificates and degrees.  The Registrar applies and enforces the College’s admissions, progression and graduations policies for a small private Catholic college in the upper Midwest. The successful individual will report to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Completes and/or supervises course scheduling, classroom selection, the academic calendar, registration, and grade reporting, and certification.        Enters or provides oversight for entering class schedule into computer system each semester.
  • Oversees the recording of grades, determines academic standing and degree candidacy.  
  • Coordinates the completion of required student graduation documents.        Oversees mailing of diplomas.
  • Is accountable for the contents of student records including certifications and grade changes.  
  • Responsible for departmental correspondence.
  • Creates and certifies institutional and external reports as they relate to student records and registration.  
  • Evaluates and maintains transcripts for new and returning students.
  • Develops the college catalog in conjunction with the Vice President for Academics and coordination with applicable College Departments.  
  • Educates faculty, staff, and students on compliance of federal laws involving student records and the integrity of the academic records.
  • Manages support staff involved with student records.
  • Serves on the Academic Council, Graduate Council, Curriculum Committee, Faculty Assembly representative, and other committees as designated is involved with academic committee work.
  • Effectively and cordially works with a wide range of campus constituencies.
  • Manages Registrar’s Office budget.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Academics.
  • Serves as CAMS Manager.
  • Serves as the College’s PDSO; oversees SEVIS processing for international students. 
  • Serves as the College’s compliance contact for the Department of Education Memorandum of Understanding. 
  • Process graduation applications and prepares the commencement list.
  • Interprets registration policies to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Provides leadership and develops recommendations for related technology application in support of enhanced services through the Registrar’s Office.

    Minimum Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field required, master’s degree preferred

    Knowledge and Experience

    The successful candidate should have prior experience in higher education; previous management experiences; a firm understanding of changing technology; knowledge of computer science; three to five years of experience in related area; exceptional communication skills; highly organized and attention to detail.
