A Postdoctoral Associate position is available immediately in the group of Elan Eisenmesser at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Nature of Work, Research Project

Our group takes an integrative approach that combines biophysical, biochemical, and biological methods to probe macromolecular structure, dynamics, and function for proteins involved in disease. Our work includes multiple projects with a particular emphasis on NMR. The primary focus of this position will be to utilize NMR and cryo-EM to characterize several protein interactions that include SARS-CoV-2 proteins and signaling complexes involved in inflammation and disease.

Facilities

Locally on campus, we have a Varian 600 & 900 and a Bruker 600 (all with cryo-probes). Additionally, we have a cryo-EM facility with a 200 kV Talos Artica, MS core facilities for both proteomics and metabolomics, and a biophysics core facility all within the same building as the Eisenmesser lab.

Salary and Benefits

The hiring rate (or budgeted rate) for this position has been established at $53,760.

The above salary rate represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate at the time of posting.

Qualifications
The applicant should have a strong background in biochemistry and NMR with an interest in further developing a foundation in cryo-EM.   EM or cryo-EM would be an asset.  We seek an energetic, motivated individual that is interested in understanding the role that macromolecular structure and dynamics play in function.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree with a particular emphasis in NMR studies, molecular biology, and recombinant protein production.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
