Instructor, co-Instructor, and Instructional Associate salaries are associated with the number of units. Percent time: Part-time Anticipated start: Appointments are for Summer 2022:
Elementary Division appointments begin early July; Secondary Division appointments begin mid-June; and Global Programs appointments usually begin either June or July. Position description
The Graduate School of Education (GSE) at the University of California, Berkeley, seeks qualified temporary non-tenure track, part-time Instructors, Co-instructors, and Instructional Associates (TSP) to teach in the Academic Talent Development Program (ATDP) at UC Berkeley.

Teaching Responsibilities: We are seeking outstanding instructors (TSPs) who can teach courses in ATDP's Elementary Division, Secondary Division, and Global Programs. Final course format (online or on-site) will depend on public health orders and/or University policies as well as enrollment minimums.

Individuals who qualify to teach the following subjects are encouraged to apply: Mathematics (ED & SD), Writing (ED & SD), Spanish (SD), Elementary Science (ED), Chemistry (SD & GP), Introduction to Engineering (SD), Intro/Advanced Biotechnology (GP), Artificial Intelligence Applications (GP), Advanced Robotic Engineering (SD), Earth/Planetary/ Physical Sciences (ED & SD), Programming in Scratch/Snap/Java/Python (ED & SD & GP), Algorithms & Data Structures (SD), Architectural Design (SD & GP), Art (ED & SD), Business & Finance (SD & GP), Data Science or AP Statistics (SD), Entrepreneurship (SD & GP), Practice of Law (SD), Public Speaking (GP), Social Psychology (SD & GP), AP Psychology (SD), Cognitive Neuroscience (SD).

General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, duties include: holding office hours, assigning grades, writing student evaluations, advising students, attending faculty meetings, and preparing course materials. Teachers are also required to attend a Faculty-wide meeting in May 2022; SD instructors must attend the Student/Parent orientation in June 2022. ED instructors must attend the Student/ Parent Orientation in July 2022. Pending public health orders and/or University policies, such events may occur virtually.

Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent international degree.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
U.S. teaching credential or equivalent international credential.
Preferred qualifications
M.A. or equivalent international credential/degree in related content area. The successful candidate will have teaching experience in the subject matter field with diverse populations preferred. Experience teaching K-12 academically advanced students in proposed subject matter, preferred. Experience developing and implementing student-centered or project-based curricula that engages students and facilitates learning. Experience teaching distance learning courses using synchronous and asynchronous formats.
