Coordinator of the College for Educational Enrichment

SUNY Sullivan is seeking to fill the part-time position of Coordinator of College for Educational Enrichment. The successful candidate will be a self-directed professional with strong planning, organizational, and communication skills needed to develop and oversee educational enrichment programs for adults with developmental disabilities. This position reports to the President.

The College for Educational Enrichment (CEE) has been in operation at SUNY Sullivan since 1979.  CEE’s success has been made possible through the cooperative efforts of New Hope Community, Crystal Run Village, The Center for Discovery, Sullivan ARC and the College. This program provides educational opportunities for adults aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with a developmental disability. SUNY Sullivan was one of the first colleges in the nation to provide such a program.

Evening hours are required. Weekend hours may be required. This is a part time position.

This position is not part of any bargaining unit and is funded by agency contributions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree and certification in the Human Services field. Bachelor’s preferred.
  • At least two (2) years teaching experience.
  • Understands the needs of individuals with various disabilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overall administration of the program including:

  • Development of the CEE program, curriculum, and course descriptions
  • Interviewing and selecting instructors, assistants, and aides
  • Evaluating the program
  • Finding other ways in which the College and the CEE program can serve the community
  • Seeking continued funding for the coordination of the program in subsequent years
  • Orienting community agency staff regarding CEE program
  • Obtaining curriculum materials and supplies
  • Arranging and participating in student recognition activities
  • Executing classroom observations and meetings with instructional staff
  • Preparing of quarterly reports, budget reports, and fiscal monitoring
  • Monitoring and evaluating of all aspects of the CEE program
  • Networking with community agencies

Performs other reasonable duties as might be assigned by the President.
