Managing Assistant Director 3

Reporting to the Associate University Counsel, Labor Relations (“Labor Counsel”) the Managing Assistant Director is responsible for effectively managing work operations to assist Labor Counsel and/or University Counsel; directly supports Labor Counsel and/or University Counsel; serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Office of University Counsel; and performs other related work as required. This position includes managing day-to-day work responsibilities to effectively assist Labor Counsel and/or University Counsel, including the management of case files for employment litigation matters and the development of policies and procedures. It entails a high degree of responsibility and use of discretion and independent judgement, while ensuring confidentiality in all work operations. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

This is not a remote position and requires physical presence on campus as determined by the Supervisor. It requires working on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic and interacting directly with students following all procedures and protocols set forth in the University’s Restart Plan and any procedures/protocols created through additional correspondence.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and at least two years of paralegal experience in a law office is required. Five or more years of paralegal experience is preferred. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to: Access, Excel, Word and Outlook and all Google products including, but not limited to: Google Drive and Google Docs is also required. Knowledge of accounting budget systems such as Ellucian is preferred. Candidate must have effective client service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff and students, both orally and in writing.
