Position Summary:

The SNAP E&T program is a job readiness program that prepares adults for employment by offering vocational training, career activities, and support services. The SNAP E&T Assistant provides planning, coordinating, and teaching career-based activities that support the SNAP E&T student in the program. The SNAP E&T Assistant’s main function is to support the SNAP E&T student throughout their training program.

Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree in a related field with one (1) or more years of relevant work experience.

Successful Candidate must have or must possess:

  • Experience with working with disadvantaged and under-represented populations.
  • Experience with outreach and recruitment efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using educational and/or case management technology platforms.

Example of Job Duties:

Under the direction of the SNAP E&T Coordinator or other administrator, the SNAP E&T Assistant is accountable for the following essential functions:

  • Maintain job leads database for SNAP E&T program completers updating frequently.
  • Collaborate with SNAP E&T Program Coordinator regarding outreach and recruitment outcomes.
  • Research labor market data and communicate that information with the SNAP E&T students.
  • Demonstrate appropriate sensitivity to multicultural differences and have experience with working with disadvantaged and under-represented populations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local employers to create warm job leads.
  • Help with the coordination of mock interviewing sessions
  • Complete special projects as requested by his/her supervisor.
  • Complete, collect, and maintain appropriate documentation in student files.

Salary:
$30.75 hourly.
