The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado Denver invites applications for a tenure track position at the assistant professor level.  Exceptional candidates at higher levels will be considered. Candidates are being sought in the areas of communications, information theory, signal processing or controls (scalable and efficient IOT communication, massive MIMO, wireless health sensing technologies, machine-learning for communications, secure communication systems, high-speed wireless communications, or other emerging technologies).  Other related areas will also be considered. Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering, this position will be expected to develop and teach lecture and laboratory courses at all levels, establish and maintain an active, externally funded research program; conduct high quality research involving students primarily at the graduate level, leading to sponsored research and refereed publications; advise students; and contribute to Department, College, and University governance and to the profession.

The Electrical Engineering Department currently has 11 full-time faculty members. The department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering accredited by ABET, a Master of Science degree, a Master of Engineering degree, and a PhD degree in Engineering and Applied Science. We maintain excellent teaching and research programs in computer vision, signal processing, communications, VLSI, controls, machine learning, power and energy systems, neuro-engineering, and electromagnetics.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $80,000-$100,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

• A strong academic record
Ability and commitment to pursue and establish externally funded research programs and direct MS and PhD student researchCommitment to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses
