Job Summary A continuing and professional education (CPE) instructor will work on a temporary, agreement basis to teach a specific number of hours in a specific area. The CPE program will provide educational offerings to help individuals upgrade their knowledge and skills for personal enrichment.

Some specific areas that a CPE instructor might teach are:

    Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, or other professional business programsEnglish as a Second LanguageSign LanguagePersonal enrichment such as art, music, painting, photography, history, health, personal finance, hobby, and other leisure related activitiesOther areas depending on the needs of industry professionals and the community including hospitality, human resources, healthcare, language, legal, management, and technology
This position is a temporary, part-time hourly position on a term by term agreement basis as needed.

The pay range will vary depending on the course.

The position will close when filled and review of applications will begin immediately.

Responsibilities
    Teach continuing and professional education courses that do not count for college credits. Continuing education units (CEUs) may be issued to students depending on the class and time frame. Provide a syllabus with learning objectives, an assessment at the end, and take attendance.Participate in any training required by the college.
Required Qualifications
    Applicants must hold appropriate credentials in the areas they will be teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
    Two years or more classroom teaching experience

    Applicants must provide evidence of teaching and classroom effectivenessExcellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to teach in face-to-face, hybrid, or online courses.Willingness to accommodate a variety of learning styles and use applied learning approachesSupport the DSC Vision, Mission and Values and foster an environment of diversity in culture, thought and experienceSuccessfully educate and empower a diverse student population (DSC is a Hispanic-serving institution) and support first-generation college students
